Designed by Motorola, the Droid Razr HD was made to provide speed Web access with a stylish design. It contains an Amoled Advanced 720p display and is only 8.4 mm thick.
This exceptional Verizon phone contains apps like Motocast and boasts of government-grade encryption for the files stored on it. By using the 4G LTE speeds, users can quickly stream any video from NFL Mobile or play any of their favorite songs. The Razr HD is also designed with Corning Gorilla Glass so the phone is extra protected against scratches and normal wear. Equipped with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, the phone is capable of features like pin lock and remote wipe.
Design Concept
Spanning 5.2 by 2.7 inches, this smartphone is easy to put into a pocket or purse. It has an exceptionally large 4.7 inch display and weighs 5.1 ounces. Although it is slightly heavier than comparable phones, the additional weight is due to the higher quality of the materials. On the exterior of the phone, the Razr only features a volume rocker and a power key. On the top, users will find the 3.5mm headphone jack and the camera is located above the display screen. To top it off, Motorola coated the phone in Kevlar fiber to prevent it from scratching easily.
Display Screen
The 4.7 inch display screen features 1,280x720 pixels. This makes it a lot sharper than the original Razr and it contains many of the same vibrant colors. To type a message, users enter their email into the virtual keyboard. Typing is easy on the screen due to the larger size and it is exceptionally accurate.
Software and Applications
The Droid Razr HD uses Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Sadly, Google has a new operating system now, but ICS still performs well. Each app is placed in a customizable folder on the home screen for easy access and a less cluttered screen. Users of the Razr can take advantage of all of their favorite Google services including Google+, Navigation, Gmail, maps and the Google Play store. For a default browser, the mobile device uses Google Chrome. Third-party apps on the phone include Quickoffice, Facebook and the Kindle app. The only negative for the phone’s apps is the extreme size and number of them. Apps like Verizon video, NFL Mobile and Verizon Tones are all installed on the phone and none of them can be uninstalled.
Camera
Motorola’s Droid Razr HD features an 8-megapixel camera and an impressive processer. The camera app launches within two seconds and boasts of LED Flash. Additionally, users can select settings like HDR, timer, multi-shot and panorama. Filter effects on the smartphone encompass five different options including aqua and black-and-white.
Overall Impression
In general, the smartphone performs well due to its 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. The Droid Razr HD provides users with excellent call quality and does not have any background static. Best of all, the phone has a high-capacity battery so users can place longer calls and watch movies. Users who are typically hard on their phones can enjoy having a tough, Kevlar coated device with an ultra-strong display screen.
