Kyocera Milano Black
Since the creation of the Kyocera Echo, the Japan-based manufacturer decided to change their approach to the smartphone market. The new Kyocera Milano was designed to be user-friendly and is outfitted with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Although it lacks the multimedia features of more expensive smartphones, it comes at a much better price. If you are concerned about having a high-quality mobile device and want an affordable cost, the Kyocera Milano was made for you. It is equipped with Wi-Fi access and has many of the features typical for smartphones.
Design
Spanning 4.1 inches long, the Milano weighs a hefty 5.6 ounces. It is 0.7 inches thick and stretches 2.4 inches wide. The back of the phone is curved so that it fits neatly in the palm of your hand and the front of the phone is outfitted with shimmering bezel. This delightful smartphone has an easy-to-use interface and a flick-to-unlock lock screen. It contains a minimalistic 3-inch touch screen and 320x240 pixel resolution. To make up for the low resolution, the phone is equipped with Sprint ID. This Sprint service was designed to let users easily switch between different profiles, applications and short cuts. Each ID Pack is uniquely designed to meet a subset of users. Beneath the display, the Kyocera Milano is outfitted with physical keys and a Micro-USB port is on the left side. Under the phone, you will find a complete QWERTY keyboard. When the keyboard is open, the display automatically changes to a landscape orientation for easier typing.
Features
The Kyocera Milano is equipped with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and can support all of Google’s apps. From your phone, you can access YouTube, Google Maps, Google Search, Latitude, Navigation and Google Talk. To make the phone even more functional, it is equipped with GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity. You can use the device with your Bluetooth headset or turn it into a hot spot for up to five other devices. Since the Milano is outfitted with Android’s Webkit browser, you can scroll through HTML website easily. If you do not use Gmail, you can always set up the smartphone for your own personal email account. Other apps include Sprint Zone, Sprint Hotspot and Sprint Mobile Wallet.
Performance and Camera Quality
This mobile device comes with an Android music player and a 3.2 megapixel camera. Considering the low number of megapixels, the device performs well. It unfortunately lacks LED flash, so photographs taken in low light tend to turn out poorly. You can record videos with 640x480 pixel resolution and store them on an impressive 68MB. If you want more storage space, you can use the 2GB card that comes with the phone. The Milano is also able to support 32GB cards. Call quality on the device is generally good and reproduces clear sounds. In addition to excellent speakerphone quality, the phone boasts of limited static and noise.
Overall
Although the Kyocera Milano is powered by just an 800MHz Qualcomm processor, it has decent data speeds. The phone performs evenly with other basic smartphones and has a 1,490mAH battery. Talk time lasts for over seven hours and battery life is generally good. Considering the low price of this smartphone, it offers an extremely good call quality and speedy Wi-Fi connections.
